Can I burn my pillar candle?

Pillar candles are for decorative use only. - if you decide to light the candle, place it on a heat-resistant tray. Extinguish and discontinue use when ¼ inches of wax remain or if the flare repeatedly smokes, flickers, or the flame is too high.

What are your candles made of?

Our candles are made with soy wax, cotton wicks with woven paper, and phthalate-free fragrances up to RIFM standards and IFRA certified

Why is there a lot of smoke when I light my candle?

When the wick is too long, a candle will burn too quickly and with a larger flame that can produce more smoke and soot. Cutting or gently pinching the burnt tips of your wick before relighting your candles can help. Make sure you always trim your wick to ¼” before you relight your candle.

What is 'frosting'?

You may notice patches or "frosting” around your pillar candle. This is when small white crystals form on the surface of the wax. It's completely normal for soy wax to behave this way and it does not affect your candle at all. Keep in mind that our candles are hand-poured, not mass-produced, so each candle will have its own unique characteristics.

What is a ‘wet spot’?

'Wet Spot' is a term used to describe what looks like air bubbles in glass-vessel candles. After the hot wax has been poured into a vessel and cools down, it will slightly shrink, which can cause the wax to pull away very slightly from the vessel wall. This gap is no larger than a hair, but the glass can act as a magnifier, creating the illusion of an air bubble.

This is not a defect, but simply a small blemish where the wax has not adhered to the glass 100%. The top of your candle may also appear slightly uneven. This is all due to the nature of soy wax, once you light your candle and it warms back up, these bubbles will start to disappear and will not affect your candle’s diffusion and lifespan.
